To provide a safe, secure, FREE place for mothers to find support and encouragement from other mothers and to empower them to be better women, parents and community leaders.

No one should have to pay a fee to make a friend, so we offer free membership to any mother within the community who wishes to join. Members gain camaraderie and support through an online forum that is available 24 hours a day and events around the area where mothers can meet face-to-face and develop real friendships that can last a lifetime.

We believe that, working together, mothers can change the world - one family, one neighborhood, one community at a time. MidUpstateMommies is a connecting force, helping us each to make a difference in our own lives, in our families and in the places we call home.

MidUpstateMommies.com is one of many communities in the Mommies Network. After 3 years of membership with CharlotteMommies.com, Site Administrator Mo knew she wanted to offer the same type of support and family resources to her new town. After moving to Union, she spent some time getting to know other moms in the community and found several with the same passion to create a free group for all moms in the area. Through a combined effort, they formed a Yahoo group with a small network of determined moms, reaching out and spreading the word through the community, gathering for events and play dates, family cookouts and local field trips for the children. After two months and a great response from the town, Mo joined TMN to bring online support the moms of the area, and expand the area to include two more counties, creating MidUpstateMommies.

We chat online in a private forum - discussing everything from the best photographers to the worst temper tantrums and all that lies between - and meet-up regularly at member-driven events around town. Whether it's a late night commiseration on a crying baby (there are 4 am posts to prove it) or a Mom's Night Out, MidUpstateMommies provides what our members need, when and how they need it.

But MidUpstateMommies is more than just a community of moms. It's moms in and for the community. Our members work full time, stay home full time, work part time, represent many races, are pregnant for the first time, are adoptive moms, were adopted themselves, recently moved to the area, have lived here all our lives, have twins, are happy with one, are single moms, are searching out schools and have watched their kids graduate. In other words, we are a reflection of mothers in the real world. And we help out our neighbors as much as ourselves through organized fundraisers and other charity events - specifically those focused on providing for mothers and their children.
